Hey, his mom Sherry told me the letter stands for Rocky Point Club, where his sister Melissa was an All-American swimmer! But Steve always tells the story that he couldn't swim straight underwater, because he refused to open his eyes so he could see where to swim. I guess Melissa didn't have that problem...

Steve was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but moved to Connecticut when he was a little kid. He came back to Utah to attend BYU, and decided to live in Provo and Park City Utah in the off-seasons.

Steve running in a BYU away game, in 1983 against UCLA. The Cougars won 37 to 35.
Steve completed 25 of 36 passes for 270 yards, with 2 TDs and oops, 3 interceptions. But they won and the 'W' is what counts. Sort of.

Junior year: threw 3100 yards,
18 touchdowns,18 interceptions,
completed 62.6 % on 367 attempts,
averaging 13.5 yards per completion.
Team went 8 - 5, lost in the Holiday Bowl.

Senior year: threw for 3902 yards,
33 touchdowns and 10 interceptions,
completed 71.3 % of passes,
team went 12-1 and won Holiday Bowl.
